I won’t be surprised if Governor Abiola
Ajimobi ends up as one of the worst governors in the country in this
second term of his, going by the way he has been governing Oyo State
since May.
Right now the administration has nothing
to show since Ajimobi’s swearing-in for a second term. Just to mention a
few of the things that have collapsed: the model schools under
construction in the state have been abandoned; the quarry project at
Moniya has been neglected; most of the roads that were under
construction have been abandoned; all revenue generating centres/markets
in the state are in bad state; while roads and markets are being taken
over by refuse in the metropolis. The government misapplied the state’s
resources in his first term and as a result Oyo State got into the
current situation where the state is indebted. How then do you expect
Oyo State governance to get better in this second term of Ajimobi? The
governor publicly declared that Amala politics is over as civil servants and contractors were not paid.
